Biodegradable and Compostable Transparent Thermoplastic Compound for Extrusion Process

The Biofilm 3055 LR is a biodegradable and compostable thermoplastic compound designed for the bubble film extrusion process.

It is a high-clarity product, slightly stiffer compared to Biofilm 3005 LR. It can be blended with the latter to adjust the rigidity of the resulting film.

Like all products in the Biofilm line, it is certified according to the UNI EN 13432:2002 standard, ensuring compliance with rigorous biodegradability and compostability criteria

Biodegradability and Compostability Certifications

All grades are certified according to the main European and international standards by Certification Bodies. These certifications guarantee biodegradation in various disposal environments: industrial composting, home composting, and soil biodegradation.

  • Biodegradability: The material's ability to be converted into carbon dioxide (CO2) by microorganisms, similar to the natural degradation of organic waste.

  • Disintegration: The fragmentation and loss of visibility in the final compost.

  • No Adverse Effects on the Composting Process: Ensuring that the material does not negatively impact the composting process.

  • Heavy Metals Nearly Absent and No Adverse Effects on Compost Quality: Verification that heavy metals are almost absent, and there are no adverse effects on the quality of the resulting compost.
